The base looks thicker than usual.

Good eye, SpiritBear. I did not notice the thicker base on this bottle until I read your comment. So I went to my bottle room and did some comparisons and measurements. All of the Ma Cherie bottles have a base of about 3/4". The base I measured is from the bottom to the first lip or fine line. The bottom section of solid glass is about 1/2" on the Cherry and Hill Billy Bottles and about 3/8" to 1/2" on the 9 oz Ma Cherie and the Fruit Cola. These bottles were manufactured by the Laurens Glass Works, The rest of the bottles were consistent with a 1/4" to 3/8" bottom and were manufactured by Owens Illinois. This may be a possible explanation to the difference. Anyway Have a good day.
