Just bought this for $1.99 at thrift store. Really like this vase but want to know some more about it. The pink, yellow, white and blue glaze seems hand applied over a matte black body. Then there is the initial i or j hand done on base in same raised pink gloss glaze. Number 1358 and 14 embossed on bottom. It is about 7 inches tall and pretty heavy for a little pot. Anyone have ideas? I am guessing "mid century"?????

Most likely W. German - but possibly Italian. Circa late 50s to late 70s?
Second number "14" probably denotes the height in mm.

Thanks for the info. I'll try to find out a bit more with those hints. Would the initial in pink glaze be the decorator?
