One of my favorites.It is museum quality carved in an 18 kt gold frame.From around 1850.The women has her hands up in the air as the lion steals the baby.Very ornate gold frame.

It is so very beautiful and different from all other cameos I have ever seen, including museums!
Horribly BEAUTIFUL!
As you all may know - Cameos often portray myths and mythological creatures.
This may be a loose depiction of the Mesopotamian Demon Goddess Lamashtu, who often stole breastfeeding babies. She was often portrayed as having a lion's head. (This cameo is much less scary than Lamashtu herself!)
