Its been a pretty good day today, signs coming in, signs going out, trying (Sean, i got your e-mail but no mailing add.?) Amber, use the google add.). Went to P/U the mail for the office & the handed me these with it. The Esso Elephant is a VERY heavy gauge steel, with a few turned up corners, which is ok by me Marked "Bengal Enamel" in the bottom left corner . On the other hand, as pleased as i am with this one, the Texaco Petrox add-on supplement sign evened the score. Ive watched these to see the average prices, but the desciptions where always lacking. The condition was super, but its un-clear about the finish. Its feather light, made of allum. base metal, which, i dont believe would take the heat of a porcelain finish. I think its enamel, Just not porcelain enamel. Hea, if everything went perfect, how would you know when you were having a GREAT day? Theres still time on the clock today!
I never knew elephants made kerosene -- or that Esso made elephants. However I do like the sign...and yes, still time on the clock...

Hi, mikielikesigns2. Remember how we encountered one another over a map of Texas, and I said that I'd find a Carter Oil photo for you? Well, I did answer at the Texas map, but I don't think that you caught it. Anyway, I just posted a photo of the Ladies of Carter, 1925, Oklahoma. Please check it out. Thanks. Oh, by the way, don't waste your money shipping the Esso elephant sign to me first class. Economy with insurance will be just fine : D miKKo
thanks stonesfan1
