I found this in an box I had packed away and forgotten about. I guess that I'm posting this because it seems smelling salts are, somewhat, unused anymore and I thought that the package looked sorta vintage.
I don't live in this part of the nation so I know nothing of this business other than it is still around.
How very interesting! I've never heard of such a thing in this context.
Thank you for looking miKKo.
this may sound a little nieve but, what exactly is in smelling salts? What i know of them ive seen on T.V. (the woman faints, they put the smelling salts under her nose & WALLA!) around here, we use a dirty sock.
What I remember in experimenting with these little capsules years ago was the strong smell of ammonia when the vial broke. This would maybe not be classified as real smelling salts but it does say "use as smelling salts".
I believe original smelling salts were a powder of ammonium carbonate and an ester.
Thanks for the loves mikielike and BELLIN68!
thank you for the info. That would make sence.
You are welcome mikielikes!
Thank you Marc112.
