Picked up this Coca Cola Label Bottle from Toledo recently. The label is listed in Petretti 12 on page 336, and dates from 1913-1917. The bottle is from my hometown of Toledo.

That's a nice bottle. Those old amber bottles from 1903-1916 can be worth some change. That label enhances display, I think it looks cool.

Thanks Daddy. Ray, I am going out of town but when I get back I will check the label over more thoroughly and let you know. The bottle itself is in real good shape, and the label appears to have age and wear but I will look at it in more detail.

first of all I am no expert, but the bottle doesnt look to be an old beat up coca cola bottle. seems to be in decent shape. you didnt mention how much you paid so as long as your happy with it. thats all that matters. great display piece!!

Looks very suspect to me as well. The label looks a little too new, condition wise from your pictures.

I have coins that are a hundred yrs old and have been graded as uncirculated so why not a bottle with a label??? Is there some sort of authenticaion service for this sort of stuff? sorry i cant spell that word! I guess my point is that it seems that everybody always assumes that if something looks good its a fake.

I'm no expert on orig. coke labels, but weren't they red, blk. & white? The fading should tell a lot. I made a repro. Coke label that I put on an old straight-sided soda bottle just to show people who were interested in my collection, what the orig's looked like.

Sorry for the delay in responding. I thank everyone for their interest! I took some clearer photos of the label for opinion. I knew going into this purchase that it was 50/50 on whether or not the label was real. Minimally, I like the bottle and the fact it is from my hometown of Toledo. Ray is correct, I would want to know if the label is original, but it will not make me regret my purchase decision. I do have my opinion as to whether or not it is original, but I will keep it to myself and trust the experts! That's what is great about this site, and especially the coke collectors. The passion and dedication to your collecting is incredible, and your knowledge is very much appreciated and enjoyed (by me and many others)! I collect a lot of different advertising items, but you all have enchanced my interest the coke collecting part of this hobby quite a bit. So throw your opinions out there, and although we may never truly know if it is original or not, we will have a lot of fun discussing it! Thanks again everyone!

dande52,,,,Before you indulge in argument, get one of Pettreti's books and please do your own research. In the collector market, it is critical that items that are not authentic, be dispelled or found out, in order to keep the true collector from being ripped off.

Either way, you still got a really nice amber CC bottle & those aren't all that common.

Ray, I hear what you're saying. My only hope is the stray blue mark over the "L" in "Cola" and the spotty yellowing age of the label.

This is a picture of the 1960s reproduction label which I think is yours, not a doubt in my mind,,,but it's at least from the 60s,,,lol
