Another trash find! The frame could be either 40s or 50s. i really like these old prints - they were made so much better than the standard ones made today. The frame holds this print 3-4" off the wall, which i like. Do these older prints have value?
i really love this old Picasso print i found years ago. do you think it has any value?
Hi
ho2cultcha
I found one picasso print 6 month ago(for $4.99)At GW,title was the "lover" dated from the 1970.
Note on the back, say "Picasso's "lovers" in the national gallery,Washinton,BC, this reproduction Purchased in spain, 1972 for 5000 peseta.
Convertion today in US dollar =$36.91, so this was in 1972, this is 42 years ago, i will say yes this have some good value, this is my opinion.
An i agree with you on the fact ,of..... that those old print are way better quality then today.
Take care
Alan
thanks Alan. this painting was done by Picasso in his early years in 1901 - during his 'blue phase'. he used it to create an etching / print in 1930. I think that this one is from the 1950s or 60s. i like the deep frame alot.
Ho2,
We had 2 large prints of Picasso from his blue period, one also called mother and child, more of a drawing with a child sitting on his mother's lap, and a painted one of a boy holding a dove much the same style as your post. They were in our bedrooms, early 5os.
I don't know if they have value. They were reproduced for years, so many of them out there, I would think.
