Can anyone provide some information on this lamp. We cannot find any data on it. It came from our mother-in-laws estate. The appraiser told us it was a early Rookwood lamp, from the markings on the bottom of it.
I have included two pictures of the bottom of the lamp. There is a Rookwood Crest, an XIX, and a number 249I on the bottom. What do the letters and numbers mean?
Please send any data to: rsandor@fuse.net.

    Thanks,
    Bob

The only similar one I have found so far is this one http://www.liveauctioneers.com/item/10251947
      It sold for $300

Carefully remove the hardware and get pics of the base with markings. That'll provide a lot of info, including year manufactured (I'm guessing circa the teens or a little earlier), any artist marks, etc.
It's a very nice piece and should do exceedingly well if sold. You're really going to need pics of the marks to sell.

"XIX" Roman numerals date production of the base to 1919. "2491" is the shape designation. The "dot" above the logo is a process mark.

You've got a really nice lamp base there, it should do very well. I've never seen the form before and the matte green glaze is always desirable.
