I haven't found anything about the artist beyond what the tag says on the back. i wish i could find out some more about her.
Name of the work: Canal
Artist: A. Balero
Nationality: Spanish [feminine]
Date and Place of birth: 5/30/1920 Cadiz
Studied at: Escuela Superior de [de Bellas Artes] de Sevilla
Awards: Spanish-American Scholarship 1939
I truely LOVE this painting, cant put my finger on it, but i think its the relationship between the sky & the buildings. no matter what, thats a keeper!
thanks mikielikesigns2. i really like it too - more and more so. it really is growing on me. it was very dirty, and i cleaned it off some and it really improved alot. unfortunately there are a few small holes in it. i sure wish i could find out more about the artist. she may have married or changed her name. she received a scholarship in 1939 - when the school went through a major transition of some type, and scholarships were given to the most talented young people in spain. she was a recipient. but i haven't found out anything else.
i found another one by Balero last night - a parisian scene. i loved it too. it appears to have been sold for over $800 and then reproduced and there's a million of them now for anywhere between $16 and $750 - i don't really understand what that's about. whoever they were that bought/sold it didn't know anything about her either.
Hi, I posted 2 painting by the same aritist and the same oil on canvas. I just wanted you to look at them. I would love to find more info. Thank you, Gigi
I have finally found out who this artist is. My mom as I have a original linen painting. I was doing some research about her and was hoping to find out more. Her painting are absolutely beautiful, and because of this post I was able to find out more information then I myself have. We bought it at an auction, and we're looking to see its worth, just out of curiosity. Also trying to figure out if she made multiple originals of this painting because our painting is online but just a very small indifference.... If anyone has more information about this painting suck as her first name and more would be great.
