My fiance was given this beautiful piece by an elderly lady who said it had been in the family since her father was a young man and that was all of the information we were given but we absolutely love it...just cant find much information on it despite all of my best efforts at researching it. I have tried every site that google brings up for anything I could come up with to search...it has obviously been restored unless they were extremely miticulous people but appears to be a professional job because it is in amazing condition and the pictures truly dont do it any justice. There are no markings or stamps of any kind that I could find even with a flashlight except for the number 18 either branded or engraved into the hidden parts of each drawer, cabinet, etc. and the cabinet doors are marked L and R respectively, under the 18...The pictures unfortunately do not show the top or the mirror at all because we have it in a very confined area right now but the top is the same wood and the rest of the shell if memory serves me correctly and the mirror has what appear to be change or trinket trays on either side...it fits like a glove so I would imagine that it is the original mirror that came with the dresser. I would appreciate any and all information that you may be able to give me about this piece including value but we are not interested in selling it, just curious...The small amount of info I could assume from all my hard work is simply that it is pre- 1940 but likely after or around the turn of the century, the rest is purely assumption and I would rather see what someone who actually knows what they are talking about has to say about it rather than spread my misinformation to the public. Thank you and I hope you can help.
