Case number does not match mechanism part number, I heard that rarely do they match because sometimes there were made by different watch makers and were assembled like that. its a 15 Jewels mechanism part number is 22438171 and Case number is 7381915. Does anybody know what year this was made and maybe what its roughly valued at?
You have a size 16s. 15-jewel Elgin grade 312 hunt case pocket watch c.1920.
The case number and the movement number never matched. They do match in some hi-grade Swiss watches. Your case is a 25-year gold-filled one. You can find a value on-line by using this information. I hope this helps a little.
Thank you, it doe help a lot, I'm not to worried what the value is, I didn't buy it for the price value. It just goes well with my small collection of watches. Thanks again.
