Of course it's Art Deco! The use of Aztec patterns was very popular at the time. So good your mother kept them at her basement!
Thanks austrohungaro:aztec is the pattern?wish i new who made them and where.thanks again
Well, I see it as Aztec because that's the kind of indian decoration i know better, but it probably is some kind of Native American decoration... You can see simmilar patterns in Art Déco buildings in the States, México, Brazil... for in many of these countries Art Déco was the first style that allowed to use their own cultural language. There is this city in Northern Spain called Gijón where you can see a lot of this native patterns and that's due to the huge ammount of people in that area who migrated to the Americas and once back in Spain in the 30s they buildt their houses using this patterns...
Austrohungaro:thank you for the info learn something new today, thank you for your time.
My pleasure!
