    The second I laid eyes on this, I KNEW it had to be mine. If you have ever seen one of these, please enlighten me! My uneducated guess is that it is a sort of "parlor album." It has hooks on the back to hang it from it's stand, and a little drawer underneath for (more photos? spectacles?). The hardware is very ornate and complete, the mirror is beveled, and it has minimal wear for its age. Acquired in Southern IL, said to have come from an estate sale in the St. Louis area. Have googled a little, but not found anything yet on something like this. Love to hear your opinions!

      I have a couple of them, but not as nice condition as yours, they were meant to sit out as a display piece.
