My Favorite Cat figurine

When I was a little girl back in the 60's, my mom took me into a shop in
La Jolla, Ca., and I saw this cat and couldn't live without it. 45 years later, it is still featured prominently in my home- one of my most prized possessions. I don't find any markings on it, and it is very heavy-- not sure if it's cultured marble or what. It always reminded me of a very large Netsuke or Okimono. I would love to know who the artist was and what other pieces they made and where to find them. It's about 10 inches long.
