These are the measurements...
The lamp is 25" high, 9" diameter base, 17" diameter shade. I couldn't find any marks, but unsure where to look tho!
Any help in identifying would be so helpful...any suggestions for value? Thank you!!!!
Your lamp base is probably from the Chicago area and used by The Unique Lamp Co, Chicago Mosaic Lamp Co, Mosaic Shade Co. or Moran & Hastings. It dates from around 1910-1920. Take the weight off the bottom and you might find a maker's mark that will nail it down.
The shade id a butterfly design and although I have seen similar, I have not seen this exact one. Usually with leaded shades made around 1910-1920, the heat cap is not soldered to the glass. A ring is soldered to the glass and the ring sits on a ledge around the heat cap. The soldering of the cap to the glass was done much later and usually with reproduction or replacement shades. Your cap appears to be period and may be original to the base. My assumption would be that the leaded glass part of the shade is not original to the base, but still has some age to it. How old, I do not know. Value is $150.00-$550.00.
JohannB, I want to thanks you so much for your help! You are definitely know what you are talking about and you are such a great asset to Collectors Weekly!
