I just have a question, I have a set of Murphy's Varnish Co. Playing cards and I read an article about them on a NY museum web.

You have found yourself a real goodie. It is one of the most sought after American Advertising decks, 1879. Condition and completeness are paramount - there should be 52 cards plus the joker (1)! If you look further down in this column I actually wrote about this wonderful deck a year ago. If this deck were mint and complete in the box (not often seen) it is worth somewhere in the 2500 dollar range but if the Joker is missing it will lose at least half its value or more.

Yes, they are complete "Best card" and all.
      Thanks,
I found them in my gran's basement and no one in my family has any curiosity about things, I guess, but me

The Best card is the Joker so the deck is complete! A great find, lots of card collectors would like to be so lucky!
