I usually only collect iridescent art glass but aventurine is sort of border line with its metallic glitter. Love red anyway.
This piece is the same shape as the Ausf. 136 example on LOETZ.COM.

Has to be the same one (ebay); I looked at this piece too. Nice glitter.
ks85 & dasullywon : yes, eBay. The mark on the bottom is somewhat obscured but it is the post 1918 Loetz mark.
Nice catch Frank.
Thanks Mr. T
The best photo of the mark is on the second set of photos. I looked at it under a magnification glass and it looks like a "postal" round stamp mark. The only letters that are clear are CZECH.......
Thanks Obscurities ( Craig ? )
A lot of confusion here. The Mark has not been associated directly with Loetz and there still seems to be a great deal of disagreement that this is even a Loetz shape or decor. I think any conclusions here are premature.
Obsurities : You said it 100% correctly. The mark on the bottom is most likely an export mark. No one ever suggested it was a Loetz signature.
And not only is the piece on LOETZ.COM it's also on the website of Jeff Weller who knows a thing or two about Loetz.
Yes, all Loetz glass was made Bohemia which was part of the Austrian Empire until 1918. After WWI the Empire was broken up and Bohemia became part of the new nation Czechoslovakia. So the older pieces before 1918 (if they are signed) say LOETZ AUSTRIA. But most pieces were not signed. It is believed that pieces were not signed after 1903. But after 1918 Loetz pieces that are signed
say CZECHO SLOVAKIA.
BELLIN68 : I don't think we are allowed to comment on pieces that are for sale.
I love this vase (wish i owned it) but it may not be loetz...Look at ricke page 348 for Ausfuhrung #136. you will see there is very little resemblance to the loetz.com ausfuhrung #136. if the base glass alone identifies it then maybe, but the shape and application technique is very different from ricke. also if anybody wants a decor study i have 10 pics or so of this decor in many (non-loetz) shapes. great vase tho...
email me if you want the pics...
