I was given this trunk in 1997 by a friend who purchased it for $300 from an antique shop. The only markings are actually on the lock it says Yale & Towne Mfg Co. Stamford Conn...I have about 5 trunks and need to downsize, just wondering which one I should keep and what I should maybe sell. I hate to lose any though. I sure love my trunks. I'd appreciate any information you can provide so I can further research...
Thankyou!
Is this trunk totally warped, or is it just the picture? This is a standard flat top type of trunk made around 1910-30. Most of these we made without a label and by many manufacturers so finding the maker is a long shot. Your friend would have paid about top dollar for it at the time. It has some damage that decreases the value. It does have great character!
