Hi, I have this ww2 German helmet that has a decal that I have not been able to find any information on. At one time there was some wording below the swatica in the white area The screw holding the liner is different than on any other helmets I have. Dose any one have any information on this decal. thanks Lonnie
The Nazi Reichsarbeitsdienst (RAD) had an insignia with two crossed stalks of wheat under a swastika. Here is an example of the patch

I wonder if the little bit we are seeing under the swastika is wheat, not words?
I think that screw is a post-war replacement.
Hi Chrisnp, thanks for your observation and comment on my helmet, all i know is the man i bought it from said it had words under the swatica when he got it.
The screw is post war. The germans used split pins to hold in the liner. What shell size is the helmet?
Agreed, Driewer. What raised an eyebrow with me was the phillips head. I've read that phillips head screws were patented in the US in the mid 1930s, so I'd question whether they were widely used in Europe when this WWII era German helmet was made.
True! I did not know that about the Phillips screw. This helmet, was probably brought back by a WWII Veteran as a souvenir. Someone monkeyd with it, Broke or lost the pin, so they put a screw in there. Do you have any pictures of the inside?
