Greetings Fellow Collectors, I haven't posted any items for a while, so I thought I would post this key ring in honor of the current olympics, and the ones held in 1972. I purchased this at a local flea market several months back in a box of loose miscellaneous items. It appears to be made out of pewter, and is good condition. It also appears to be original, and I believe it wmay have been sold in Munich at that time. Maybe someone on here will have some ideas on that. There are no markings on the coin, but the latch has the initials D.C.B. on it. This was an Olympics that were marked by tragedy for the Israeli team and triumph for the U.S. swimmer Mark Spitz, who won 7 gold medals, and broke 7 world records. It was also noted for the arrival of the famous Russian Gymnast Olga Korbut and her famous gymnastics. But more importantly, it should be remembered for the murder of 11 Israeli athletes and coaches by a terroist group. Although the games were postponed and a memorial service was held, the games continued as a notice to that terrorist that the world would not be intimidated by them. This year is the 40th anniversary. Hope everyone is having a great day. Thanks, Thrifty Gypsy
