Pedal toy/collectors edition Volunteer Fire Department Engine No 8
Limited Edition (1907/2999)
This is a heavy item and is very solid! Appears to be a collectable? There was electricity that ran to the "head lamps" with an on/off switch that is no longer working. Also appears to have had "ladders" attached at one time. Working bell and pedals. Windshield and back gate moveable. This is very cute!
Mystery Solved.
If this pedal car was an original, it would be worth some serious $ as they are VERY collectible today, but what you have here is a modern day pedal car built by "Kaylee". And this pedal car did have ladders that were attached to both sides of the back.
Although this is a modern day pedal car that can still be bought new for around $350. it appears that this particular one has had some custom work done to it. Everything has been finished in brass and the horn was added. In addition, the "Engine #" has been changed to #8 which leads me to believe this pedal car belonged to a Fireman's child or it was customed out like this as a giveaway or auction from a specific Fire House.
I hope I was of some help to you and at least you have a 1 of a kind fire engine pedal car that is still very cool. Enjoy!
I think I have this fire truck. It has had changes made to it. The number 8 is original and it is a limited edition. I have done a bit of research but struggling to find when it was made
As for a Date try 2008.
I have a Gold & Black limited Roadster here in the "Uk" that I found a little piece on with a date of 2008.
As for Ladders.
Try "BAGHERA Pedal Cars" France.
OMG, this look almost identical to the picture of my mother, driving one in the 1900.
I love it.

graumm My fire engine is in the UK. Would it have been imported then if it was made in America? Mine was supposed to have been owned by the artist David Hockney but I have no way of validating this.
There are two versions of the Fire Truck, Limited Edition with Gold Trim & Limited Edition Plate.
Standard Issue with Chrome Trim ?
There should be a warning label on the inside on the right stating that it is not a toy for children under 50 and on the bottom saying made in China.
I tried to purchase one recently ( May 2015 ) but they are now discontinued.
Ps I am in Wales any on else want to talk about these Big Boy Toys.
Mine was I suspect gold trim but has been painted over. No stickers and has lost its limited edition plate.
