I finally figured out what these are and where they are made. They are made from a lost-wax technique out of brass and silver plated by tribal people in the Orissa area of Eastern India.

They are so cute :-)
they are really kind of neat. i'd love to know more about them.
i spent an hour looking for info on these on the web and found a couple pics of others, but no info yet. they are very tribal looking - asian? african?
thanks robinhawaii. these little critters have really grown on me. i think they're great! i couldn't find anything similar from ghana, but i did find two of them on etsy, but they said that they were asian. i have my doubts though. sure would like to find out something about them.
Very cool .
thanks WHATYOUGOT!
I have some of these. Find them on my page. i've asked what and where and nobody has said. thanks! i guess mine are the same.
