I purchased this item from an Estate sale for small amount and I believe it now to be a biscuit holder probably from 1800's.

Any advice is appreciated because I have found pickle decanters with diamond cut class very similar to this item with exception of size, I believe this to be too large for a pickle decanter going by what I have found in my research.
The second picture is what is imprinted on the bottom of the silver carrier. It came out of a mansion in Norman Oklahoma and they collected mostly items from Italy and France.
Any info on this item is appreciated.
