I purchased this at an Estate Sale, owners were collectors for items from Italy and France.
The back of the painting has hand written Baird-Oil "The Bridge" the signature does not look like Baird when you first look at it, but after you study it a while it does in deed say HBaird67. I assume 67 means this is the year he painted it.
If I have the right artist thru research this artist only painted a few things and then wrote children books.
He lived from 1937 1972
If anyone has any in put I appreciate it.
A better picture will follow, I am just looking for anyone that might be familar with this artist. I believe this was the only one he painted and I don't think there are any reporductions of it.
Through research he painted only about 25 oil paintings.
1/2/12 just posted all new photos
Anyone have input on this oil painting?
Have you discovered the value of your painting? I have one of his - painted on a piece of wood! It's signed... of a mother and child. Would like to sell it.
send me a picture of front and back let me see what I can do. It might help me determine mine as well.
If you would you can send it to flamenstarr86@yahoo.com
Did you ever find any more information on H Baird? I bought a piece of art this evening (at a local auction) that I believe is from the same artist. On the back it is titled "Girl at Beach" Oil by Baird 5X15. On the front in the lower left hand corner is HBAIRD (no date). I have been unable to find any additional information on the artist or the painting. would appreciate any help.
None yet. Is yours painted on wood or canvas?
I posted pics of the oil by Baird that I have. Looks very similar to the one above. I have searched and found nothing.
