Hi to all, I found this little item in a small out of the way shop ,
I took it home and cleaned it up but do not know what its for or what it was made for, It has a small slit on the top and has glass on both sides .
dose anyone have an idea as to what it is >

how much space between the glass panes? fancy ant farm???

Hi all. This item is not for money as the slit on top is about 6 inch long. So it rules out bank drop .
Its not magnifier because the glass is normal and not thick at all . The slit is about 6 inch long x 8mm wide. I will try and post more pic on the weekend :)
nicely finished wood and workmanship. Generically it appears to be a porthole framed display case of sorts that can be viewed from either side. There are similar with a more modern look as sand art frames on the web.
I think it is to well made for sand as it would damage the wood work . I thorght about it but cant see sand or ants in it , flowers would fall apart and you would.nt be able to clean the inside of it. It was made with something in mind but its got me stump .
I will be home on the weekend and then I can take more pictures.
