So very beautiful and lovely! The baby also :)
Amazing!!
Hi there! Please don't polish these!!! Unless you intend to keep them. Then you do whatever you want. If you do polish them with a paste, you will have to work out the paste from the crevasses using a toothpick. The only thing that wont scratch it. That's a lot of work. Use a polishing cloth instead if you do clean them. They are really nice. There is possibly a hallmark somewhere on them, not necessarily tho.
They are hand done and it's hard to tell the age. You have not mentioned the size. Take a photo of the inside and post that too. Look inside all over the metal parts. Sometimes they want to play hide and seek with us ;) Sometimes they also stamp it at the hinge joint. Take it outside in the shade, if possible. Daylight is the best time to look, but direct sun won't work. A magnifying glass or a jewelers loupe helps too.
I had a small mesh handbag for years, finally sold it for $14.00 and as I was wrapping it up, there it was! "Whiting and Davis" , I never could find it. Right there on the inside of the metal by the clasp. It just looked so new that no one wanted it. It was probably worth a good $150.00 Oh well...
And I agree with Elisabethan, the baby is adorable!
