I was fishing in Prairie Du Rocher on the Mississippi River the other day, and the water is really low, so we were halfway across the river bed fishing and beings that there was no water, there was no fish, so i started walking and found a glass bottle...then another..then another, eventually finding roughly 50 bottles within 50 feet of each other on the river bottom. All were buried somewhat and all intact. These particular bottles intrigue me because they are from Red Bud, Illinois, which surprised me because i had no idea Red Bud bottled Sun Drop soda. The sun drop bottle says on the bottom of it,"Fred Huseman" and on the other side" min conts. 7 fl oz" and it says Sun Drop on the main labeling area on both sides. The confusing part is that all sun drop bottles ive seen are green, and this bottle mispelled the bottlers name. Fred Husemann Bottling Works in Red Bud is currently out of business, and this bottle spells it Huseman with one n. I began to think it was a different company until i saw on the bottom it says Red Bud, making the odds of there being 2 Fred Husemans in 2 Red Buds be astronomical. I wanted to know any history on this bottle if anyone knows. thanks all!
