Hi, all. I've posted this in hopes to learn a thing or two.
So many questions.Done a little learning on my own, hoping for some....
???Direction.Identifying different metals, cleaning different metals, Is
this something best left untouched?Significant?Any info. is greatly
appreciated.I don't know it's value, all It's value may lay in all that I learn,so it's worth every penny.looking forward to it.Excited. Passed a magnet over both stand and chiller, not magnetic, learned if I'm correct, sterling silver is or should be 10 times the weight of water, buoyancy test, haven't done it yet. There is weight in the handles of this, would that suggest the main buckets metal?Someone somewhere mentioned something about Indian silver also, If I'm not mistaken.???There isn't markings on it.What does that mean?I don't even know what category it belongs in yet. Silver? Aluminum oddities, Spaceships? Garbage? No. No.I'm just kidding.Wait ..........I see a category for Railroad silver?......maybe that's it.God I love this site.So much to see and
learn.Cool people to meet.
Anyway.
I look forward to hearing from you,and learning anything you may offer.
Thank you.
Thank You...Very Much...All Info. Noted.
Good To Meet you........ again.
Cheers!!
silver over nickel or lead base is not worth as much as silver over copper.
We call this piece a wine cooler and is much used as an urn or for floral arrangements.
good luck
Looks like a winer chiller, catches the dripping humidy in the bottom lip? Do not polish. Do you see the pictures on the side? Look closely. May have been a trophy type item, with engravings of initials and someone tried to remove the pictures. Or tried to polish it and messed it up? Beautiful piece! I'd display with fake flowers and enjoy showing it off as home decor. What it is made of, take to a jewelry store and see what they would charge to check the material. I love stuff like this.
Thank You Janet For The Info,
Glad you stopped by.
Good to meet you.
