At the risk of completely embarrassing our oldest son (he's now 25, but in this picture he was less than a year old), here he is, held steady by his mom in a Dale Chihuly piece, circa 1987 or '88.
At the time, Dale was still working out of the Buffalo Building on the east side of Lake Union, which is where this photo was taken. We had stopped in to say hello and show off our kid, and Dale was ever generous with his time, to say nothing of his willingness to let an infant crawl around in his art.
This piece (the color in this old photo completely sucks) was from a series of Soft Cylinders he was doing back then. You can see more of them in full color here:
