Can anyone identify this set or who/what/when/where it was made? This is an amber mouth blown pitcher and six tumblers with optic inverted dot (or thumbprint) in all surfaces except the handle. There are flecks of gold painted into the glass as well as flower decoration. All pieces are hand painted with enamel stem, leaf and flowers which are cream, light apricot and gold. The flowers appear to be stylized lilac, but that is a guess. The pitcher handle is fluted and clear; the tumblers are thin sided and yet have weight. The glass exhibits bubbles through the glass, but it does not seem to be a flaw, but rather an intricate part of the set. Either the maker was a genius in blowing this into all the pieces or the flaw rises to the level of art. This set is at least 100 years old, I believe. It was my grandmother's (b:1896). I have no information about whether it was given to her as a legacy or as a present; my hunch is that it was not newly purchased for her. I am very curious as to its' orgin and maker. I have not been able to find a set anything like this one. I have found single tumbers in antique shops on line, of the same size and style as the tumblers, pointing to Moser. An online appraiser told me it was Fenton glass (with no example, picture or reason why this delicately made set fit into the thicker Fenton style) and when I asked why this judgement had been made I was charged $40. If I wanted more information I would have to pay more. Live and learn. If it is Fenton, ok, but it would be nice to know why. Can anyone in the art glass community help to identify this most beautiful set?
I look forward to learning about this set. Thanks!
It's lovely...:-)
