HI, I would greatly appreciate any help identifying this pretty little doll. There are no tags or marks that I have found on her body, face, neck or clothes. Her face has a soft sculpture with felt? cloth over the sculpture. If I am measuring her correct, she is 18"
I am also very curious as she has two circular items under the cloth pretty much where her breasts would be if she had any. They are flat hard disc type material. I am so curious. The furtune hunter in me wants to cut her open and see if someone hid thier gold coins in there. I am kidding of course, but it is very curious to me as I am not a doll expert.
Thanks for any and all help.
Kind regards
Patty
Thank you
Hi your doll appears to be made as a Collectors Doll newer and made in likeness of old antique cloth mask faced dolls . Unless I could hold her and see her better since she has synthetic hair I can tell by photo her body looks newer and clothes are most absolutely newer . Many companies were in business and selling collector dolls in 1980's to end of 1990's fewer do now that market for them is very small . She should have a tag on her body or clothes or she was in a box that had name of company or a hang tag on her wrist . If made in foreign market other than USA they are required by law to tag what country made it . So I have to say without that she is USA made or made by a doll artist in past 20 years but they usually sign their dolls . Hard to name a company but she is as cute as can be .
Thanks Manikin you Rock! There are no tags to be found anywhere. Was hoping she was a Lenci, but I looked at a lot of Lenci info today and no faces match. She is very cute, think I will keep her for my someday Grandkids. Do you have any idea why there are two hard disks in her breast area? Kind of strange to me. No other foreign objects are felt in her so I ruled out a voice box. Thanks for sharing your knoweledge with me.
Take care.
Hi yatty
Lenci dolls are made of felt including face and body. Yours is made of a stockinette material . They never used that .
The disk you feel at one time likely did make a sound when pressed .
