On one of the many flea markets I found these Sterling Silver earrings. Still in their original brown leather jewelry box. The box and earrings are coming from a jeweler in southern Belgium (mentioned on the box: founded in 1870). The earrings, ladybugs of Sterling silver and their bodice made of a gemstone. What type of gem it is I do not know yet. The gem is a yellow/green colored and there seem to be a sort of bubbles in it looking a little bit on Amber but only a different color. Who has an idea what kind of gem this could be. On the earrings the makers mark, looks like AD, 925 for Sterling Silver with on top of the 2 a G and in addition to these figures I believe to see a women's head looking to the right. Is there someone who has an idea when these earrings could be created and what gems it could be?? Like to ask your help.

Hello Agram, hope you are well

The stones are green amber, it comes from the Caribbean I think.
I don't think that is their original box though, because amber that old would be very crazed and crumbly, and green amber was hardly used at all until very recently. Also, I usually see the 925 stamp on modern jewelry, hardly anything older than 80 years or so
