I've no idea where this one came from most likely a junk sale, made of aluminum I'd say it's only been used once or twice, little tray to cook a chop or sausage or a bit of toast while the billy (container of water) boils away on top. has "manufactured by southern cross porcelain co. pty.ltd. Victoria" and v/cw/97 on its base its been here a lot longer than 97 so probably not its yr of manufacture. and cat97 volts 249 watts 1000 also on the base.and it still works. the element is of the coiled spring type. I wasn't able to find anything about it on Google either
Is it some type of lab equipment? It looks specialized.
