      Great piece!

I can tell you a little about the sign but not much about the company. If this sign is made of TIN, it is most likely a reproduction (re-pop) and if it is made of paper, then I am almost certain you have an original gem on your hands as not many of these paper ads survived. The size given is correct for both the TIN and the paper version (give or take an inch on both ends)

The original paper ad would date back to the early 1900's and the "reproduction" version dates back to only 1974. The reproduction version was made by a Utah printing company by the name of "Sanford J heilner co." The company name should be printed just below the woman's picture, but seems like the type has been matted out by the frame. This company reproduced many turn of the century ads on tin.

I'm not sure if the original ad was indeed a hand made lithograph, such as with a stone, but one way to tell is to examine the piece close up under magnification. If the patterns of dots are RANDOM, then this would be a hand made litho (Very valuable) and if the dots are more of a MECHANICAL pattern, then that is a sign of commercial involvement and cameras that produce a perfect reproduction. (Not so valuable)

Either way, it is a nice piece and looks good in that frame. I hope I was of some help, enjoy it!

Glad to hear you have a paper ad, sounds like it is in deed an original. As far as value goes, this is always difficult when not many survived. The only ones that I have seen sell through auctions were all tin. The fact that the patterns are random would suggest this is a hand made lithograph, possibly a stone litho which always fetches more $. I wish I could give you a value, but I would be guessing. As you probably know as a collector, items are only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. One thing is for sure, the value will only increase on this piece. Enjoy it!
