I would love to find one. she was black and had a wig and false eyelashes. We owned this doll in 1957/1958. I have no clue as to what make she was.

How did you get name Topsi doll ? Is she marked on back of her neck ? If so what does it says also look at her mid back .I can't see her face on this photo so need more info please . The term Tospy doll is derived from a African American History for a doll that could be flipped from time of Civil War . One side was generally white doll and when you flipped her the other doll was African american . She is not one of those dolls . And they were made of cloth . The term Topsy has become used to describe a African American doll in general by 30's

Mani- not sure, but I'm guessing the poster does not have this doll currently, but this is her childhood doll. She'd probably like to find one to replace hers.

Yes, Stef design is right, We no longer have this doll, but recently we were talking to a friend also from Germany she also said she owned one of these dolls. Funny!!!!
