We found this vase in a store the other day, & we immediately fell in love with the shape, size & colour. We left the store without it, not knowing if it was worth what the owner was asking.
We thought & talked about it all week.
My lovely wife went back to the store today & tried to talk the owner down in price, but he wouldn't budge.
So she bought it & surprised me with it for an anniversary gift.
It is 4.5" square at the bottom with ribs running up the corners, it measures 15" tall and 9.5" across the top.
The colours are simply amazing, I'm not sure that the pictures do it justice.
There are no makers marks on it, I don't know much about glass so some help would be appreciated.
I beautiful colours and with it's size I bet it looks very impressive in real life, it does just in the photo!.....:-)
the colors ARE amazing, draws your eye to it.
Thank you Bellin, eye4, mikie & mustang for the love.
Thanks Bellin, eye4, mikie for those nice comments
Thanks eye4 what a nice thing to say & yes she is a real gem.
Thanks for the love miKKo & mrmajestic.
Its from Italy, they made tons of decorator stuff like this
Thanks for the info Stillwater!
Any idea what decade it is from?
I think its Czech actually
Its probably contemporary, not older that 10 or 20 years
The age isn't that important we just liked it's shape & colour.
Thanks again for your input, Stillwater.
Lovely piece and a sweet story. Love it!
Thanks for the love & the comment Amber.
Thanks for the love, trunkman.
Thanks for the comment scandi & yes we are.
Thanks Phil, I have to agree with you on all points. Sherry especially liked the last part, but then she's known that for thirty years.
Found it! I was in the thrift yesterday and found this exact piece. Immediately thought of you Walksoftly. I turned it over and there is a Pier 1 sticker on the bottom. IF you want a match set I will pick it up for you. (give it to your wife?) Tell me soon as today is probably the last day it will be around. S Army closes on Sun.
Hahaha! Ran to the thrift, got it, posting now.
Pretty vase but I also love the dresser.
Thanks for the love & the comment Kathycat, the dresser is actually a washstand. Behind the door on the lower right is where the chamber pot goes. We recently picked this up at auction.
Thanks for the love Mani.
