Can anyone please just tell me what these are called? I tried stick doll/figure and matchstick doll/figure but came up with nothing on Ebay or Google images.
The arms and legs are sticks, the face and clothes are cloth, the shoes are red felt, the hair is yarn. One doll (the last photo) has pipe cleaner arms and legs. They are 3.25" tall. They are all tagged Japan on the back of their dresses (except the pipe cleaner).
I would love to know what they are called, and what approximate decade they are from.
Does anyone out there know?
Thanks for your help.
My email address is beatlesharon@optonline.net
These are Japan and Korea made these large eye dolls from 60's to 70's for USA market . They are made in much the way as the Bradley dolls . They appear to have been made for some type of a package of little dolls maybe to be used used as gifts at a party or decorations of some type .
Hi Manikin,
You were the only person who was able to help me identify them. I emailed quite a few experts, and no one knew anything. With your input, I was finally able to offer them up on Ebay under the title "13 Vintage Japan Big Eyed Mini Bradley type Stick Doll Figure Lot Collection", and in only 12 hours it has had 40 hits, 10 watchers, 2 bids, and an offer to Buy It Now for $30.
Thank you so much for your help! Your information made all the difference!
