This is a rare textile block from Frank Lloyd Wright's Imperial Hotel in Tokyo, which has been mostly demolished. I do not know how it came to the United States. I only know of one other is existence (aside from the remaining part of the structure in an architectural park in Tokyo) and that is in the Los Angeles Contemporary Art Museum. Like all things Wrightian, it is an aesthetic wonder.

Might anyone know how this could have found it's way to the U.S.?

Wow, thanks. I assume the dots only need to be connected from Buffalo to SF now.

      Best, Ron
