    An Art Deco brooch from ca1920. 1ct natural sapphire and over 2.5cts of Old European and single cut diamonds. Duplex setting is platinum over 18k yellow gold. Safety chain was added by me. Purchased in New Zealand. HELP: Marks on the back are M230 GC. Anyone know what they might represent?

      they are scratch marks and could have been added if the item had been taken in to a shop for a repair, or if it had been taken to a pawn shop.
