I thought this item may have been used in dental offices considering it looks like it could be used for holding someones mouth open.. There is a screw that tightens and loosens at the top side that i think could adjust the length. Any ideas? Am i completely wrong? Please let me know anything you do!

I don't think these would be the tool that caused the pain haha more like the absence of Novocain and sharp dirty dentist tools D:
