I picked this up today. I don't think it was originally electric, since the cord doesn't come out near the bottom. It works well, and looks great under the blacklight. I'd like to get it back to an oil type lamp, if anyone knows how to get the electric top part off, and maybe where to get parts, that would be great! Thanks
your lamp is Westmoreland #555 English Hobnail. This lamp was made in a wide variety of colors and for a long time; first introduced in the 1920s the lamps were made up to the closing of WG in 1980s. My guess is that with the long production of this model that WG most likely did provide them with electrical parts as well. The collar and burners are usually held in place on the font with plaster. So depending on how well it is in place you could try soaking in water for a long time to soften the plaster for removal of the electrical parts. You can find replacement parts online at a number of outlets; just search oil lamp parts.
