I collect sterling silver lighters, and recently came across this wonderful piece and had to have it. I'm trying to find out as much info on it as I can. I've been told the hallmarks identify it as made in London, in 1907. The interior is nickle plated brass. It's pretty heavy at 10 oz. It has a wheel striker (working), a wick and a screw-in cap to refill the lighter fluid. I'm not sure what the exact use of this item was...was it part of a high end travel kit? Any idea what kind of value it may have? It seems to be pretty rare, as I've never seen one and plus the condition is incredible. ANY info would be greatly appreciated! THANKS! -Eric

      London date chart is here:

I would say 1927, but it is close. To ID the maker I will pull out my books later. They are packed because I am moving but I will dig in later. I do not see it on the following reference site:

Hey, thanks for the response! I never got any replies surprisingly, so I'm glad you found it. Thanks for the date chart. It's been a while now since I got it, but I found out it's actually a travel curling iron set! lol. Well I'm not 100%, but I've found similar items that seem to sell pretty well. They are used to heat the curling iron that it usually comes with, and I ended up buying one to make it a set (mismatched set at least). I never really looked into the date, and maker too much, so now's a good time to check it out. I'll have to take some more pictures of my other sterling lighters, man are they fun to collect.
