As I told you when I spoke of the COPENHAUE ashtrays, there are two more models called after Scandinavian capitals: STOCKHOLM and OSLO. These are STOCKHOLM and were designed in 1966 and they follow up the same "stacking" premises than COPENHAGUE did, although in these case the number of levels is limited to three due to the different sizes of the three Stockholm ashtrays. Thus, you cannot create an ashtray tower... but can create an ashtray ziggurat!

The interesting thing about them is that each one can be used for a different purpose and as you can take the small one with you -just like you can do with the Copenhague one- you leave the bigger ones as table ashtrays, but I think I am not wrong if I say these were made with a more decorative function.

They were made in at least four colours: white, orange, red and black.

Thanks Amber! Yes, they're chic! :) And old acquintance of mine told me than in her early days as a decorator around 1970s she decorated a small apartment in white with white plastic furniture and the only colour on it was a set of orange Stockholm ashtrays, an orange Nesso lamp by Artemide and a blue carpet. So fabulous!!!!

All the Ricard items lives n the study!!! And you can be sure they're not a dozen items... :D I've been collecting them for about ten years and I got most of it within two of them... now some items come out from time to time. I got two in August after several months not getting a single one (but of course now's harder to find those i haven't got yet)

Mmmm... well, some of them are very rare and others are still into production, but as I told when I first talked about Ricard, his designs range from perfume bottles to ashtrays, tooth brushes from the early 80s, liquors from the early 70s... plastic containers from the 90s... he designed all sort of thing for everyday life... they were very common back when they were designed, but after 30 or more years they've become rare and, at least to me, important :)

In many cases their importance is more "sentimental" than material. My last two finds have been a perfume bottle from the 70s and a box of cocoa powder from 1975 (I guess into production until the mid 80s) and in this case it is something that I used to see (and use) every single day at breakfast when I was 8 years old...

Thanks for yout love, ho2cultcha! Orange was so avant-garde in the 60s! Almost any design from this time looks so much better in orange!

I never thought of that, but it certainly looks like one!
