I came across a small thimble collection of six thimbles. I decided I would start a collection by taking these into my home and learning more about them.

If you can give me information (company? date? material? value?), I would love to label these so I can pass them down as heirlooms one day. Finding these has made me start shopping around for other vintage pieces - there is a such a variety and so much to learn!

    THIS THIMBLE:
    - has no identifying markings
    - is much thinner than the others
    - the circles are holes that go all the way through

All six thimbles are up for identification! Thanks in advance.

this looks more like a top to a salt or pepper shaker

Could this be a lid from something?
A thimble with holes is tempting fate.

Tall Cakes you beat me,I took to long to respond..:-(

You just might be right! It was in the baggy with the thimbles and so I thought it was. Closer inspection is totally a salt lid. Wonder if some old lady used it wither her thimbles??

      How embarrassing!

Ha ha ha. Well, maybe help me out with the others?

That's okay heather you're not the first on to get caught by the "it was in the bag/box so it must be mistake".
Someone else most likely thought it was a thimble.

      It cracks me up!

Any knowledge on the other five? I am a thimble newbie with no idea...
