My ebay find. Heavy Ceramic 3-D beer sign. 13"L x 9" H x 3"D. This sign came from Tacoma, Washington. All I know is Heidelburg beer was a short lived Co. Can anybody put a year on this Very Cool hand painted piece? Trade Mark is on the side, with copyright.... Pic #4...
Very strange..I found a few bar displays exactly like this, except for the sign. They say the sign was made by the PLASTO Company, Chicago, Illinois during the 1949-52 time period. The other signs say "Let's have a...Heidelburg" in green letters where your's says "Vern's Bar". The others have a bronze frame around the sign also. Being that the sign is made of plaster...it might be reasonable that someone, maybe "Vern" scraped the surface smooth and painted that there. Are the letters raised?
NO they are not raised. But U are right. U can change the sign just by painting it & puting your name or what ever U want to say. The sign should'nt mean much, no matter what it say's...... Thanks for the info Viking. This is solved...!
You're welcome, it's also the Columbia Brewing Co. not sure if all the words are visible on the bottom.
Ding, Ding, U are right again......Columbia Brewing Co. HeeHee.....
Piece actually from 1955. The Vern's part added. Can be seen in the book Back Bar Beer Breweriana by Baley on page 131, Item 544.
