Today has been a good day for when I visited my local charity shop I came across this stunningly beautiful AMANO vase which is 4.5 inches in height and 8.5 inches in diameter. It is a very deep red at the bottom and erupts like a volcano into a lovely red at the very top, it also has a thin line of gold leaf around the rim. It is fully stamped AMANO with the logo above that. It also has the numbers 619-13 (if anyone knows how to translate this into the date in which the piece was made, I would be very grateful) and finally MADE IN GERMANY stamped at the very bottom of all the markings. It is in absolutely fabulous condition and has already found a spot in the living room.
It amazes me at what some people throw away or give to charity for this is quite a rare and somewhat valuable piece and in absolutely as new condition, still I guess on the plus side it has ended up in the hands of someone who appreciates it for what it is, simply stunningly beautiful.
This item as now sold - reached 238 Euros (around £205)
Thanks for looking though
Thanks for the up-date!
I realize this is an old post, but I find the claim that is was a rare item highly questionable. Amano is a very basic and late line from Scheurich (mid 90s or later), with solid colors common. Even the ones that try to be "art" are usually lacking the sense of proportion that makes the aesthetics work, equal at most to the lesser items Scheurich made during the W. German era.
