Just bought this vase at a local "English container" auction because I liked the colors and form. I have to admit I know nothing about it and very little about pottery in general. It stands 10 3/8" tall; is 16 1/2" around at the widest part; the opening is 2 1/4" across. The primary colors are shiny copper and turquoise. The signature is clearly visible on the bottom. Can anyone tell me:

1 - what style does this appear to be?
2 - is it finished in a copper penny glaze or something else?
3 - any thoughts as to age?
4 - how about country of origin?
5 - based on the signature, what opinion do you have as to the artist's name?

I didn't pay very much but am very interested in hearing back from some pottery folks in-the-know.

    Thanks in advance!

To answer #2: It's a Raku glaze, you can google that for a lot more info.

looks like Copper penny over a clear crackle glaze- yes Raku - thrown and altered- (adding or subtracting elements to the thrown vessel. )
