I saw and bought this at an online auction, really perfect condition, you can lift purple cloth and under is 2 candles and Irish linen, also instructions for caring for sick children etc., I have not read all. I looked online for new ones and I saw one for $800. and it was kind of cardboard looking suitcase with little cross, Cheapest cardboard looking ones were all from $600 up. I paid very little, I am not sure what to do with it yet, but I have some ideas. It is special, I will take good care and respect it. toracat
Hi toracat!
Do you know about the 'Last Rites' aka 'Extreme Unction'?
The site below will fill you in on what is needed for making a 'sick call'.

You'll notice in the photo how the items in your case are set up in the home.
What you have is a kit that a priest might use.
I've know Catholic homes to have these items ready for use in emergencies.
Rural Catholic homes.
But this experience goes back to the fifties and sixties.
Thanks for the information! I bookmarked for future study, As I traveled the world I always enjoyed Catholic Churches as they were cool and peaceful. In Vietnam a Priest gave me a rosary, (I asked for one) as I was scared, I think he blessed me also. I think it helped. So I feel Catholic, also Buddhist.
