What to do? I am in a thrift that I rarely go to. First because I don't get near it very often and secondly as it is not in my favorite part of town.
The Heller I posted was there, easy pick it up and buy. But what do you do when you find two (2!!) Stelton Cylinda ice buckets but NO lids. ($4)
V collects this line. Sean collects this line. Austro? Scandi? Geez, I just froze in indecision. I call Sean. No answer. Call again. Nada.
I decide to walk away. Paid for my Heller and am moving out the door.
Sean calls whispering as he is at work.
    "Pick them up NOW"
    Yes sir!
So, would you have picked them up?
V, should I get my shipping box ready?
I will make an oblique turn on Monday to see if the lids show up. Wouldn't that be cool!

I already have one with the lid. It hold walnuts at the moment! C'mon! Look for the lids on Monday! There are two sizes. I reckon these are the big ones. Check out mine here and look for that shaped lid. You will surely need an ice bucket or two! Keep 'em!

I'll quote you 7 months ago:
"Let's fire her up and have a cocktail party! This is new to me, I can feel a new addiction coming on!"

Sean needs something to put in his hands in the GQ 'T' shot!
      One for each arm!
      LOL!

      1 Litre or 2 ?
    5. AmberRose AmberRose, 12 years ago
Can't. Already have three ice buckets and hubby is at tipping point. Do you notice the different picture location? Snuck in shots while he took the girl child to gymnastics!
In fact, after extensive talks with hubby, I have applied for and approved to have a spot at a high end flea market. I skimmed the cream, and am selling off the rest. I will use the cash to reset the pile. I am actually excited about it. Bit of a relief.

      He already claimed one, naturally.
    7. AmberRose AmberRose, 12 years ago
I would offer you one eye4, but that would mean giving up your secret location.
    8. AmberRose AmberRose, 12 years ago
      Heck ya brother!

You always say thateye4 then you psych me out with some crazy address. Tease!
    10. AmberRose AmberRose, 12 years ago
Oh please that man claimed one already!

I have a bad thrift habit that needs some relief. I have only posted a fraction of my findings. I feel the need to save cool stuff at the chip and scratch thrift. Decided that thrift can be cyclic...save, cream, sell, buy...repeat.

Those are great! That about keeping the best and selling the rest sounds exciting...

And good luck on Monday with the lids! I hope you get them!

Thanks everyone! I'm on the hunt! Will update on success!

Austro, once I made the decision it was freeing. Now I don't have to feel guilty when I find things that I don't necessarily collect. Rescue program!
    16. AmberRose AmberRose, 12 years ago
One down one to go eye4
    17. AmberRose AmberRose, 12 years ago
Of course. We thrifters run into all kinds of cool stuff, and we really can't keep it all, hoarder style. Mid 9os I had a booth at an antique mall. A decade later I have more knowledge and more stuff! (also a house and kids). I am not making this my career...oh if only I could...just having fun and learning. If I have to be cyclic about it, c'est la vie!

They are big (and heavy) so I would guess the larger.
    19. AmberRose AmberRose, 12 years ago
Hi eye4! Where are you getting it? Do you need the bucket to match your lid?
They are not coming to the big sale with me today...yes today! 16 boxes of treasure on the block. I am going to try not to shop but I think I will keep an eye out for some Abraham Palatnik.

My email is on my profile. Send me an email, say hello, learn my real name and we will go from there.
    29. AmberRose AmberRose, 12 years ago
Hahaha! Nope. AmberRose is a play on my last name.
    30. AmberRose AmberRose, 12 years ago
Yes Sean is his real name. He knows my real name but calls me Amber which is adorable. What's your real name? Kidding, you don't have to bandy it about. It is kind of fun to have a Nom de Plume.

Gentlemen, just saw the debate, then deleted it. Sometimes this forum can get confusing, and I believe this has happened today. Hope you both have an excellent afternoon. I have to go to a little kid party so suspect I'll be drinking heavily later :))
