This is Series 611. I think it's Canadain (not U.S.)from the 50s. From my Dads collection. Unable to find info on Series 611. Any sugesstions out there?

I believe you are correct. As far as I can remember, the U.S. Scrip was called a Military Payment Coupon. (MPC) Also seems that the ratio was reversed back then. One american dollar could get you 80 MPC on the black market. Just the ravings of an old Vietnam Vet.
611 series is from japan 1964-1969
Series 611 military payment certificates were only used in Cyprus, Japan, Korea, and Libya. Just under 114 million in face value was issued 1964-1969 in seven different denominations (5cents, 10cents, 25cents, 50cents, $1, $5, and $10). There were 10,640,000 of the $1 note you show and I hope you did not pay the price that is shown on that sticker. The value for this note in uncirculated condition is $40 tops.
